Such an intimate relationship between the writer and the instrument. I am not sure how you prefer to write, but I have favorite pencils and pens that seem to 'flow' better for certain kinds of writing. One pencil in particular I've had since 10th grade. They hold such knowledge, such 'truths' as you say...it is our challenge to unlock them.
