Familiar - On Knowing Your Muse

Familiar

who are you,

this creature with my face and eyes,

small and fleet running rampant on my soul?

what quest brings you here again

to devour my joy and chase away my peace

ever laughing as you go, flinging scorn and disdain?

come, troubler of spirits

rest here on my lap and tell me what fuels your frenzy

how comes your recent troubled flight into my thoughts?

sit with me

let us wait together for the rain

waterfalls often bring sprites in drops of tears and sweet dew.

for i know you like them so

abide here with me then - my familiar.

  2. Speaking of our muse, I do know mine... very well. She wreaks havoc on my soul, plays games with me, hides and expects me to go out and find her. But when she appears in all her glory, it's like manna from heaven.

I could relate to many of your thoughts, but especially this:

    come, troubler of spirits
rest here on my lap and tell me what fuels your frenzy
how comes your recent troubled flight into my thoughts?

  3. I left a comment here last night, came to look for it because I'd gotten an error message, didn't find it, and then wrote a new one. Well, the first one appeared, so I deleted that one. Just thought I'd let you know... Comments play weird tricks, sometimes.
