After careful consideration, following the reading of
The Shallows, by Nicholas Carr, I'm quiting.
No more Social Media. No more blogging. No more Facebook. If you really know me, you can use my phone number to contact me. I'm still going to use email, but I'll be changing much of that behavior, as well. We can be 'social' over a cup of coffee - or not.
I need my self back. Please follow this post to my blog and comment if you want to know more.
Bye.
yes. it is April Fools. Did you fall for it?
ReplyDeleteI would like for you to mail me a card if you ever return.
ReplyDeleteYes. I'm walking to the post office to buy stamps later today.
ReplyDeletePlease kindly send me smoke signals in lieu of DWT tweets.
ReplyDeleteWow - you had me going. I was thinking, "But his job! How will he ever do his job?" I'm such a sucker...
ReplyDeleteI read The Shallows as well and I'm reading a book now called "Alone Together" which gives some (scary) insights into how social media affects today's youth and how they create themselves online in places like FB and feel more real in their "adjusted" online life than in their real life.
I'm still limiting social media until after I get my morning writing done. Absolutely ruins my creativity if I pop online beforehand.
Happy April Fools day!
Fun Times!!
